Setting Goals and High School Reunions

34
First things first! It's Thursday :) #TBT

2002 vs. 2013
Let's talk goal setting.

I've done this several times before but it doesn't always work for me. Now that I'm mentally where I was the last time I lost a significant amount of weight I'm ready to do this again. Weekly weight goals!!!

Wanna know why?

My 20th high school reunion is in less than six months.

It's such a cliche, I know, but you can't deny it's great motivation.

In 2010, I blogged about an informal high school reunion with several classmates I hadn't seen in over 15 years. Here's part of what I wrote:

This get together was only planned a few weeks ago and I'm happy to say my reaction to the invitation was excitement. Had this reunion been a couple of years ago I might not have even gone because of my weight. I was excited to go shopping for a new top; something I would have dreaded a couple of years ago.

My goal is to lose just over 25 pounds by the time I go to my reunion at the end of September. To do that I will need to lose just slightly more than a pound a week. Here's my handy dandy Excel spreadsheet:

This bad boy is getting ready to be taped to my desk!

I have a lot of upcoming events I want to look my best for including:

April - Gracie's First Communion
May - Memorial Day
June - Alumni Dinner at Summer Camp
July - Parties, Business Trips and Family Vacations
September - 20th High School Reunion

Do you set a weekly weight goal for yourself? Why or why not?
