I posted my Sunday food log on my challenge group today. Here's what I said:
"Yesterday's
food log. I made excuses for not going to the grocery store on Sunday
and regretted it Monday. I ate out for both lunch and dinner and
although I stayed w/in my points for the day and made pretty good
choices I just didn't "feel" the same as I have been when I eat the food
I prepare myself. I'm happy to say I did go to the grocery store last
night at 9 p.m. in the 16 degree weather. B: Shakeology L: Chipotle bowl – brown rice, black beans, chicken, salsa, corn, guacamole S: 2 Tbps. Peanut butter D:
Noodles and Company Med salad - Grilled chicken, romaine, mixed greens,
tomato, cucumber, red onion, cavatappi pasta, spicy yogurt dressing and
feta"
My coach pointed out the reason I didn't "feel" the same as I have while eating food I've prepared myself is because restaurants use unhealthy
oils and add things like sugar to flavor things. She said so much of what we are eating at restaurants is processed and full of chemicals and preservatives.
This is something I wouldn't have notice three weeks ago - that restaurant food would make me feel different physically. I felt bloated and full. That's how I felt all the time before. And the thing is I would still feel hungry. I know that doesn't make any sense but I believe it's because of the chemical makeup of the process food that makes you feel hungry 30 minutes after you eat.
This is the reason I was so determined to go to the grocery store last night. I felt so much better this afternoon after eating fresh fruits and vegetables today.
