I cannot stress enough how helpful it's been planning out my food for the week. I'm kicking myself for not doing this before because it really works. But I know why most people don't do this, it's because it's a lot of hard work. I'm sure as the weeks go on my enthusiasm will diminish for planning my food, but I have to remember that it is the key to my success right now. It's imperative that I keep it up.
Case in point. I had a late meeting at work tonight so I was on my own for dinner when I got home. I was also by myself because Jim and the kids were at Scouts. This is dangerous territory for me. I tend to sneak eat when no one is around. So the great thing was I already knew what I was having for dinner.
Love, love, love this! I was having an Evol burrito (review below) and
salad for 15 points total which is actually pretty high, but I had enough points available because I had planned out my meals for the day. See how that works ! Anyway, my salad was 1/3 of Kroger salad kit and oh my goodness it was so good. As I was eating the salad my old ways started to sneak into my head. I started negotiating with myself that I should eat more than the 1/3 serving. I do have the extra points available and it was so yummy. The reason I didn't eat more than one serving was because it was not on my meal plan that way. I said to myself I didn't plan on two servings of the salad for a reason and I should stick to it. I was so glad I did.
The craving or whatever it was that wanted to keep eating went away quickly after I reasoned with myself. Shortly after I was finished eating and had cleaned my dishes I realized how full I was. I would have been overstuffed had I ate the extra serving and felt bad about it. It's not that I couldn't work the extra serving into my plan, it's just that it wasn't part of my plan to begin with and I don't want to mess with the work I put into this.
Alright, so I mentioned I had an Evol burrito. I also have had an Evol bowl this week. This is a new product for me and I'm very impressed with the taste considering they came from the Natural Food section.
From the Evol website
"Our food philosophy is simple: Love what you eat. So, we make REAL FOOD with ingredients that you would find in your pantry."
The teriyaki chicken was very good and filling. Didn't have that freezer meal quality that I've experienced in the past.
